Design Co
First GBM Kickoff
I'm a student leader at Design Co helping grow the largest design community at UC San Diego by creating opportunities for other students through workshops, panels, and wide scaled events.
We are 150+ design members strong and my goal is to bridge the gap between students and industry and make students feel confident in their ability to perform.
What I Do
I'm on Design Co's board as a Industry Relation Coordinator and I work on a team of 3 to connect, develop, and cultivate strategic partnerships with companies to bring year-long partnered events and designathons throughout the year.
This year I’m working to help fundraise <$20,000 through partnerships with the purpose of bringing quality events to our design students.

I'm currently spearheading a design-centric career fair called Stride with the Industry Relations Team to breakaway from the traditional career fair and create intimate space for designers and industry professionals.

Events
These are some events I've helped host such as teaching students how to make portfolios, speaking about my design experience, connecting industry to students through on campus events, and creating wide-scale events such as having women leaders in design speak or a building a design-centric career fair from the ground up with my team.
Why I do it
I find a lot of comfort in being able to empower other students because I understand that without a community I wouldn’t be where I am today.
I can attribute a lot of my initial growth to the friends I've made at Design Co. They were there for me when I knew nothing and I want to be there for others who also want more beyond the classroom.
Glad you made it to the end! It wouldn't really be work without being able to find downtime to get to know each other.
